KYC & AML Policy
Enoch Casino is committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and underage gambling. To do this, we follow Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures in line with applicable Canadian law. This policy explains why we verify our players, what we may ask for, how we monitor activity and what happens if checks cannot be completed.
Why We Verify
Verification helps us to:
- confirm that every player is at least 19 years old;
- confirm that you are who you say you are and that your account is not being used by someone else;
- make sure you are located where our services are permitted;
- protect your account and payments from fraud and identity theft;
- prevent our services from being used to move or hide money from criminal activity;
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We complete identity, age and geolocation checks before you can make any deposit. We may also ask for further information at other times, including before a withdrawal.
Identity and Age Verification
When you register, we check your details against reliable, independent sources through our verification partners. In many cases this can be done electronically within moments. If we cannot verify you this way, or if further checks are needed, we will ask you to upload documents such as:
- Photo identification: a valid passport, driver's licence or government-issued photo ID card showing your full name, date of birth and photo;
- Proof of address: a recent utility bill, bank statement or official government letter showing your name and residential address, usually dated within the last three months;
- Proof of payment method: for example, a photo of your card with the middle digits and security code covered, or a screenshot or statement showing that an e-wallet or bank account is in your name.
Documents must be clear, complete, valid and in colour. We may ask for a selfie or a photo of you holding your ID to confirm that the documents belong to you. The name on your account, your documents and your payment methods must match.
Source of Funds and Source of Wealth Checks
In some cases, we may ask you to explain and provide evidence of where the money you deposit comes from. This may happen, for example, when deposit levels are high, when activity changes significantly, or as part of our regular risk reviews. We may ask for:
- recent payslips or an employment letter;
- bank statements;
- tax documents;
- evidence of savings, investments, inheritance or the sale of property or a business.
These checks are a normal part of our legal obligations and also support our responsible gambling commitments, as they help us make sure players are gambling within their means.
Ongoing Monitoring
Verification is not a one-time event. We monitor account activity on an ongoing basis to detect unusual or suspicious behaviour. This may include:
- deposits and withdrawals that do not fit a player's normal pattern;
- deposits followed by withdrawals with little or no play;
- the use of multiple or third-party payment methods;
- attempts to hide location or identity;
- links between accounts that suggest duplicate accounts or collusion.
We may ask you to update your documents if they expire or if your details change. We may review your account again at any time.
Politically Exposed Persons and Sanctions Screening
We screen players against international and Canadian sanctions lists and lists of politically exposed persons (PEPs), as well as their close family members and associates. A PEP is someone who holds or has held a prominent public position, which may carry a higher risk of involvement in corruption. Being identified as a PEP does not automatically prevent you from playing, but we will apply enhanced checks, which may include source of funds and source of wealth verification. We will not open or maintain accounts for anyone subject to applicable sanctions.
Record Keeping and Reporting Obligations
We keep records of identity verification, transactions and related information for the period required by Canadian anti-money laundering law, even after an account is closed. We are required to report certain transactions, including suspicious transactions and large cash or virtual transactions, to the appropriate authorities. The law may prevent us from telling you that a report has been made. All information is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
Payment Rules
- All transactions are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
- You may only use payment methods registered in your own name.
- Where possible, withdrawals are returned to the same method used to deposit.
- Deposits made with third-party or unverified payment methods may be refused or returned.
If Checks Are Not Passed
If you do not provide the requested information, provide documents that are incomplete, altered or not genuine, or if we cannot verify your identity, age or location, we may:
- restrict deposits, play or withdrawals until checks are complete;
- suspend or close your account;
- void winnings where they result from prohibited activity or false information;
- return verified deposits where the law allows;
- report the matter to the relevant authorities where required.
If we find that an account belongs to someone under 19, we will close it immediately and handle funds as set out in our Underage Gambling Policy. We will always tell you by email what we need from you, and we aim to review documents as quickly as possible.
